ISOC asserts bombing suspect not beaten, threatens to sue NGO

PATTANI, 9 May 2014 (NNT) – The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) asserted on Thursday there had been no physical abuse of suspects apprehended in connection with the recent bombings in the Deep South, contrary to the claim by the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF).

ISOC Region 4 Forward Command spokesman, Col. Pramot Phrom-in, spoke to media about the allegation by CrCF director Phonphen Khongkhachonkiat that some officials had severely beaten bombing suspect Adin Samae when they were taking him into custody on April 26.

Col. Pramot asserted the allegation was untrue, and the unit that made the arrest had indicated that the arrest was made in accordance with procedure and human rights principles.

Physical check results on the suspect did not uncover anything unusual, and Adin Samae also said in his testimony that the alleged injuries were inflicted during convulsions resulting from mental stress.

The spokesperson called on the Cross Cultural Foundation to go over all details before publicizing such information. He added that the ISOC may press for a legal case to force the NGO to take responsibility for the issue.

Boy they do come up with some wacky excuses for 'alleged injuries'. I suspect the threat to sue has more credibility.
