WHERE IN CM CAN I FIND 'THE DAMMAPADA' IN THAI?

I live in CM, and have been trying to locate copies of the "Dammapada" in Thai to give as gifts.

(You know, informal missionary stuff--bringing the light of Damma to the benighted).

I have checked DK Books, Suriwong, mall bookstores, all without success. The first response

is "never heard of it." If they are able to locate it in their computer inventory, it is only available

in English. It is not a matter of the Thai edition being sold out--they never had it to begin with.

l. Where can I find it?

2.To what do we owe this sad state of affairs, that what is likely the most popular single ORIGINAL

Buddhist book worldwide, which can be found without much difficulty translated into ALL the major

languages of the world, IS SO HARD TO FIND IN THAI?

This is an absolute disgrace!

Try going to a Buddhist Monk University's bookstore. They'll have the direct translation word by word. If you're talking about the verses from the dhammapada you could probably fit them in a book. But a large one it would be if that book had each dhammapada volume in it.

Oh, and it isn't hard to find. Just think about monks studying for pali exams ...

If you're in bangkok check out tye mahachula bookstore across from thammasat University in the wat mahadhatu temple.
