May 10, 201411 yr My well seems finally to have dried up so I went to use the concrete tank that I haven't needed to use for a couple of years now. My previous water carrier has disappeared, so I tried a new one. Shriek! - 600 baht for 40,000 litres. This is lots more pricey than 2 years ago. Is this just because I'm a new customer and they're trying it on? Or is this what people are paying now? I'm in the Mae Nam area so if anyone can recommend a reliable supplier who is cheaper than mine - please pass him on to me! Cheers R
May 10, 201411 yr Forty thousand liters? Then you've been given a very good price, too good to be true. I paid 200 baht for 2000 liters two years ago and guess that it would be 250 baht today, I'll probably know in a few weeks time
May 10, 201411 yr You must mean 4000 litres Mr Rob... ? Agree with Iom, if that is the case... I know someone who pays 600 baht for 6000 litres.... if he were not up a very steep hill it would be 500 baht.... Will try to get the name of the supplier 4 u...

Since I wrote the above it turns out that my neighbour used this guy last week (our landlady recommended him to me) and neighbour was charged 500 baht. I thought 600 baht sounded a lot, even in these droughty times . . . The supplier you mentioned - yes thanks Jim, I'd be much obliged. R
May 10, 201411 yr Yes, of course, slip of the zero - 4,000 litres! Sorry! R Some one else with "senior moments", it's catching! The guy in Maenam name is "DON" 089 872 7757 apparently does 3000 or 6000 litres.... The guy I just phoned said it's raining dogs and cats up the hill, so maybe it will trickle down your way! .... soon! darn I was heading out soon!

(Starting to smell like bacon anyway - I can't wait to stand under a shower of running water for half an hour . . .) Anyway the Thai guy who was supposed to be coming before midday hasn't shown up (1.45 now) and I told him I had to go out at 2:00 pm. If he doesn't turn up while I'm out then I'll call Khun Don and try to get him for tomorrow. Thanks again, R
May 10, 201411 yr 250 baht for 2m³ (2,000 ltr) delivered by small truck, may be cheaper pr. m3 in a bigger truck with 4m³ or 6m³.Supplier: 082 288 1199
May 10, 201411 yr Truck is doing three runs a day from the well which services the few houses where I live. Owner's husband must have his alarm clock set because he gets up during the night now to pump some water into the huge storage tank. Using v = πr2h suggest a 2000l tank on the truck so that's 6000l a day. Seems like a lot to be taking out.
May 11, 201411 yr Here's another company.... I am guessing these guys are going at it 24 / 7 these days.... I suspect they will look after their regular customers first.... There are trucks large and small running around... most have phone numbers on them! Have pen and paper handy if you see one and need water!

Got your man Don today - most amusing as the other guy - the one I told I didn't want after waiting 2 days (the one that didn't come yesterday) - both he and your man Don turned up at precisely the same time. It was like Water Garden Central City Terminus in my very narrow soi. Anyroadup, Don's current prices are 2,000L for 250B and 4,000L for 500B. He asked me if I wanted either of only those two amounts, so it looks like the 3,000 and 6,000 are off his menu. But thanks for the tip - muchly appreciated - I shall water myself with khun Don again in the near future. R

May 11, 201411 yr Are there any others who are experiencing their wells drying up? I heard that Chaweng had just turned off their government water supply to the people who draw off that, so that might be why there's an increase in water delivery...? But I'm holding my breath for when my well might dry up as well. Does anyone know what the cost is these days to get a new deep well drilled?
May 11, 201411 yr <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> Pattaya a 60 meter well no pump 80.000 THB takes 3 days to much rocks Great info, Thank you. Is this the company on the Island? If so, do you happen to have a contact number?

Pump extra. (About 20,000baht???) Samui deep well was much more expensive. I'll try and find the contact number for you
