When we visited Wat Arun, we found these orange scarfes with different writings on it.

who and why does anyone write on these "scarfs" (i don`t even know if you should call it scarf)

sak yant amulets... they are blessed by monks and givent to men... my husband had one given to him when in israeli jail (visa probls.) and he used it to store his amulets as like a folded up pouch... moving to budhism forum for more info..
