In the Summer myself and my wife (who is Thai) will be travelling to Thailand for a holiday. We have been married nearly 10 years and my wife has full UK citizenship and holds a UK passport as well as her Thai Passport. I was just hoping somebody can give us some info regarding her Thai passport. It is due to expire in August but we will travel to Thailand in July. Is she still able to enter Thailand on this passport or will she have to use her UK passport?

We live in the North of England and due to work commitments and distance of travel to London it is not possible for us to travel there to re-new her passport before we go on holiday in the Summer.

Any help much appreciated.

A Thai can travel to and enter Thailand on an expired Thai passport. Your wife will have no problems making her trip.

If entering on her Thai passport, she must get a new passport to be allowed to leave after expiry date of passport. She can enter on an expired one, but not leave.

For a new passport she must be registered on a household registration book.
