CAPO issues statement to warn senators against nominating new PM

BANGKOK: -- The Centre for Administration of Peace and Order Wednesday issued a statement, warning senators against violating the laws by nominating a nonpartisan prime minister as demanded by anti-government protesters.

The statement read by Tarit Pengdith, director of the Department of Special Investigation, said the call by the People's Democratic Reform Committee for the acting Senate speaker to nominate a nonpartisan prime minister for a royal appointment is unconstitutional and illegal.

"As a result, the CAPO would like to call on senators, some political groups and supporters of the PDRC to stop breaking the laws by selecting and nominating an unlawful prime minister," the statement said.

Have i missed something? but when did CAPO become agency above senate?

And since CAPO and Chalerm like to use "law" in making their statements, what section of the law allows CAPO to "warn" senators?

The Senate should file a complaint with the DSI to arrest itself for issuing threats? lol

Sad days ahead as the skies of Thailand are darkened by thousands of Calerm's paratroopers raining from above to arrest Suthep, the protesters, the Senate, and anyone who has ever posted a discouraging word on Thai Visa.

It has finally come to this.

Isn't it a pity...

... or else what? CAPO/DSI will go arrest the Senators? For following the rule of law and trying to find a legal way out of the <deleted> mess Thaksin has created? What a <deleted> joke this country is.

Why? do you think senators are "above the law"?

Aiding and abetting a criminal act would be the obvious charge.

Doing their jobs according to the Constitution has suddenly become a criminal offence in the <deleted> up brains of PT/Thaksin/CAPO/Tarit? You guys need to take your heads out of your arse's.

Why? do you think CAPO and Chalerm is THE LAW?

You are right, aiding and abetting and taking orders from convicted criminal on the run should be obvious charge and all PTP members should be charged and jailed

Tarit is really starting to panic.....Chalerm's pissed.......it's the blind leading here.....no-one knows what's going on......

Pretty much as usual.....and wouldn't expect much more from these people.......

There's gotta be 10 years of legal cases pending now......a laughing stock, but bad for the country!!

ex Dept. PM and ex MoFA and still chief advisor to CAPO Surapong will probably organise a new session with foreign envoys and diplomats to explain the democratic, lawfull way in which the CAPO tries to put the Senate on the right path.

Surely this comedy hour must be really appreciated by those invited.

Tarit is just a partisan, glorified policeman under investigation for several possible crimes and is severely pushing the boundaries of his responsibility with statements such as this

There was a story circulating last night that Chalerm was in hospital. Have seen nothing further.

Slightly off topic. Can anyone provide some realistic attendance figures for both the PDRC and Red rallies?
