Question about Application for Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am about to aaply for Non-Immigrant O visa for retirement in NY with the Thai consulate here. I believe I have all the bases covered, that is, medical certificate, FBI check, financials, but am stumped on one request on application.

' Name and address of reference in Thailand' - can I leave it blank? I don't have any such reference in Thailand.

Anyone with any experience in this, what do you suggest I do?

Thank you all

Just fill in "self" or leave it blank.

It appears you are not applying for a non-O visa, but for an O-A visa which is specially for retirement.

Update on my Visa Application via Royal Thai Consulate in NY. I overnighted the package on last Friday, the consulate received it on Monday, got a slip in my mailbox on Wednesday, picked it up on Thursday morning. Visa Done! So, I figure I did all the right things and/or got lucky. Thank you Mario for your response, and thank you all for your information sharing. And, I guess the Thai Consulate in NY has their s..t together. See youse all in Thailand in September!!!
