May 18, 201412 yr Hi Yall, My old smartphone got destroyed during Songkram (rookie mistake, I know) so I need to get a new one, would there be much benefit to picking one up in the duty free shopping section of Suvarnabhumi International or KLIA2?Curious about international warranties as well, anyone got any experience or advice on this topic?
May 18, 201412 yr Some brands have world warranty, others have world region warranty, Asia, Europe etc ... you need to check that. The price would probably be better if you go to a mall in Bangkok and you can get the tax back at the airport. If it isnt to bad you might even get it repaired at MBK.
May 18, 201412 yr Sony have worldwide garantee Also good Panasonic Samsung only in country you purchase The rest I don't know On eBay ok you can apply for one year repair warranty paying 15 Procent more up to auction price But don't know this great service realy work?
May 18, 201412 yr What phone you interested in.. I have found the Kingpower prices to be non advantageous. Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
May 19, 201412 yr I have never seen anything in King Power that is even the same price as outside, everything is higher, somebody has to pay for that exclusive franchise
May 19, 201412 yr Author What phone you interested in.. I have found the Kingpower prices to be non advantageous. Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Have decided on the new HTC One M8. Saw it in KLIA2 was wondering how much you'd save getting it duty free.
May 19, 201412 yr have had a look at duty free on padang border a few times yet to see anything to buy or cheaper. not looking to buy alcohol or cigs though. that may be their reason for existing. didnt look, dont know prices. exchange rate for baht was also pretty vicious if i recall correctly. May 19, 201412 yr Author Yeah it didn't really seem any cheaper.Granted, it's only been released a few days ago so it's going to be top dollar but thought there may be some benefit to getting it duty free. Will have to compare prices, eBay seems the cheapest but with electronics the warranty is as important as the device so not sure how that works.Have never had a smart phone that didn't need to be replaced within it's 2 year warranty.
May 19, 201412 yr Last time I looked at Kingpower in Swampy airport things weren't cheap. No idea for KLIA2.
