Any ENT doctor recommended in Chiang Rai? Not for me (can I really be posted two medical questions in two days!) but for a friend who's ear has been blocked for weeks and is now complaining of pain.

Look this up at Google or Google earth...open every day and just beside to the traffic light in front of the King Statue-at your right hand when going to Mae Sai.

The one at Sriburin examined my sinus problem well. Was very thorough and had all the right gear. Long term problem solved. I cannot remember his name but his english is not great but his charge was not excesive.

On issues of medical care I would be inclined to defer to harrry or AjarnP. In my 37 years here, I have dealt almost exclusively with pharmacists, with one notable exception involving a metal plate and some screws.

I guess you are right VF...asked my wife who have lived here all her life and that was her answer so I guess he cant be that bad as he was the first to spring in her mind.

I was just trying to say, I don't know, and would trust the advice of those who have much more experience dealing with medical care.

Can't think of a private clinic but if the ailment is causing pain, try the Emergency A&E department at the Thai Grneral Hospital.

Tell you friend to explain his "excruciating" pain and you shouldn't have to wait too long. Early mornings are best too.

Thanks for your help, he is now recovering well after seeing a doctor at Wiang Chai hospital

There is a clinic on the right side of the superhighway heading north. It is about 100m north of the King Menrai junction. The doctor specializes in ears (so presumably N& T too) and I have been there a couple of times over the years. He has seemed competent and helpful from my experience and is not expensive.
