Getting a Thai Passport for my Girlfriend

Featured Replies

I went along to the Passport Office in Bagna in Bangkok in February to try and get a Passport for my Thai Girlfriend. There were in excess of 2000 people there. I believe they only do around 600 a day, went back the next day very early same, people had been `camping out all night. I called Pattaya same there, people camping out.

Has the situation eased any now or can you get a passport by post.

My family just got their passports up here in CM and there was a very long queue, but not that long. It seems that our yellow shirted friends have been occupying the BKK office and folks are having to go to the distant provinces to process their passports. Family got their queue card a little after 8am and were finished by noon.

It seems that a lot of Thais are seeking passports.............wonder why??

Fly up to Udonthani for the day. In and out in less than an hour. They will send new passport to you. We did this in March.

I think you will find that things have improved since February.

Online appointments can made for the temporary passport office at the Esplanade shipping center. Link for appointments: http://www.ufida.co.th/booking.htm

My wife did hers and for her 2 daughters last year in Khon Kaen. In and out in less than 1 hr. And received them in the mail in about a week. But then again that was last year before all of the trouble started

I know of thai woman who last month got passport at Khonkaen office. Wait 90 minutes after lunch time. Got passport in mail after 9 calendar days.
