There is a Thai proverb that goes; Doo nang, doo lakhorn yon doo thua.

I know what the words mean but am unsure about the meaning of the proverb?

Also, could someone please write the proverb in Thai?

ดูหนังดูละครแล้วย้อนดูตัว

Loosely translated "see a traditional puppet play, see a traditional play, and then go back to see yourself".

I understand it to mean that even with all the distractions of life one should find time for inner reflection.

It's discussed (in Thai) at http://www.royin.go.th/th/knowledge/detail.php?ID=5335
