Lite Beer
Yingluck still in military custody BANGKOK: -- Ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra is still in the custody of the Army along with her sister and brother-in-law Somchai Wongsawat at an unknown safehouse. Report of the former premier, her elder sister Yaowapa Wongsawat and husband Somchai, the former prime minister, at a safehouse in Saraburi, the centre of the Army Calvary force, was confirmed by Channel 3 reporter Thapanee Ietsrichai Friday night in contrary to earlier report that the trio were released last night after having been detained since she turned herself in to the junta in Bangkok in the morning.Yingluck’s close aide Mrs Supakarn Suprakarn, a member of Chiang Mai provincial administration said Friday the ex-premier, Yaowapa and Somchai were not detained but released and now were in a safehouse. All were safe and still living comfortably, she said and added that they have halted all political activities and would not leave the country as banned by the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council (NPOMC).Thapanee tweets on her Twitter that Ms Yingluck was escorted to the Adisorn barrack of the Cavalry Centre in Saraburi province. She was expected to be in custody for another three days, the reporter said. Her latest tweets said Ms Yinguck is in safe place and is not detained.Reuters also quoted a senior army source as saying she, her sister and her brother-in-law would be detained not more than one week as it was too long.It needed some time to re-regulate everything in order first, the agency said. As transparent as the 2.2 trillion baht infrastructure scheme might be more appropriate in yinglucks case.

This has to win a prize as one of the most self-contradicting and wholly baffling articles written. ....especially when taken with another thread, where Thaksin is allegedly saying he and Yingluck will establish a government in exile (like he has any validity!) It also demonstrates why people should wait to find facts before publishing / posting.
Lost sheep
Please do not send her to the lovely prisons here in Thailand! Or Sudtep! Please reform the prison system first of all, chains and filthy water, and living human waste is totally unacceptable.. Of course if this is acceptable then so is Thaksin, Sudtep and the military! bdenner
A slap on the wrist only??? So what would you like to see? Hand cuffs and leg irons! She has not had a day in court. IMHO, passive detainment is a good move as it not only keeps her away from her hardline supporters until things cool down but ensures some sort of security and safety.
Popular Post Roadman
I would be inclined to keep her and the rest of her lackey's there and in heavier detention past the 7 days as permitted by the Martial Law Act. Reason being the lowlife scum lawyer Amsterdam mouthing off that they Thaksin and the Redshirts including the puppet will form a government in exile as per the Thailand live posts. These criminals are not going to learn so charge those in custody via military court as again permitted under the Martial Law Act with a fair charge of sedition.

dinom
'Not detained' but in a safe house IN AN ARMY BARRACKS! I think we all know what that means ... And she'd better not think about leaving ... Well, in Sattahip (south of Pattaya) we go sometimes to the "Navy-Beach" inside their huge compound. Very nice housings and well maintained. I would not mind to rent a house there directly facing the sea with a lot of green around, an duty free supermarket, a restaurant with daily life music aso. That's what you mean right? Popular Post AleG
Maybe they could move her and the other UDD mercenaries to the same prison where Red Shirts are being held since 2010, that way they could explain them how and why they screwed them over the Amnesty Bill so that they could whitewash Thaksin and their own corruption while in office.

Popular Post ramrod711
The army should take this opportunity to investigate the assets of all politicians, from every party. Bring in a team of forensic accountants, if there is no reasonable explanation of how you acquired a Bentley, a Rolls and a mansion, they should be seized, sold and you should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The same applies to Suthep, Yingluck and Abhisit, no exceptions.
