For interpol to become involved it requires an arrest warrant to be issued in the English language and submitted to the appropriate department. Ass for the passport to be revoked it would be nice, but he now holds a Montenegran passport which is rumoured to be 'diplomatic' in nature. That does not give him immunity from arrest but does give him freedom of travel.

As far as I heard before Thaksin never was on the Interpol list that's why no country send him back. Abhisit mentioned once that he was on the Interpol list but Interpol said no. The generals can of course cancel his Thai passport but he has still some other passports.

Yes there has been previous discussion whether his name was / was not on the Interpol list.

Yes Abhisit mentioned that it was on the list, however during Abhisit's time the police were way less than cooperate and does that mean less then truthful, and It's doubtful Abhisit would have asked to see an actual printed list.

Overriding all of this is the grounds on which Interpol can/will get involved, and I suspect that any situation which:

- Is about local corruption

- Local abuse of power unless severe violence or human rights abuses are involved

- The slightest / remotest connection to local political stuff

then Interpol would keep a distance.

Or put it another way; why does Interpol exist? Surely it's doesn't exist as a venue for local corruption cases, etc.

If the Montenegran passport were diplomatic, why would Yingluck's administration have reinstated Thaksin's Thai passport?
