Honest people still out there.

Just a short story, there are still good and honest people in Thailand.

Lost my phone on Thursday evening around Silom area, admit little drunk.

Did not notice till the next day, send a message to my phone that I offer 4.000 B to get

my phone back. Phone was a Samsung just few days old and new price was only 7.900.

Got a message back that someone found it and was happy to return it to me, no payment needed.

I asked where I could get my phone back and he replied that his wife would send it to me

today at 14:00 at a bar in Silom road.

I was there at 13:45 and at 14:00 a Thai woman around 25 years old walked in the bar, she took a phone out of her purse and yes it was my phone and I informed that I was/are the owner.

Offered her a drink, she refused. Offered het to pay and also she refused it.

I thanked her again and she left.

I was chocked and don’t have any information about the founder at all.

I just want to say to him/her “Thank you very much” and good to see that there are still honest people in town.

Good for you. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not sure if I need to fart or not!

Glad you got your telephone back. Do you realise that drnking is bad for your health ?

Yes I realized that, bad for health and finance.

No excuses but I am going out ones a week when in Thailand, still not good but so be it.

And if I living 2 years shorter because of this, I accept it.

Only if you try to do both at the same time, phone & drink. Apparently.....................tongue.png

Next time, prepare a small gift you could hand over fast and easy something like a small Buddha, sweets, flowers etc.

After a refused money offer it spoils the good intention repeating the offer...

I think I`ll have to start mislaying my mobile phone, if this attracts nice young 25 year old girls to me and for free, as normally I have to pay for the attentions of pretty young women.

Its obvious by reading your comment what your needs are. Dont worry, just flash your cash.

You are wright, should do that

A thank you card with some cash...or a little thank you gift would have been nice.. You are so rude.. Hahaha next time you loose it.

And friendly, helpful people too. I was in Khampheng Phet a while back wandering around the vicinity of the bus station killing time waiting on my bus. A Thai guy sitting in his yard says "bai nai?", where you going"?" I say "the bus station", which was about a km away. A few minutes later, he comes up next to me on his motorbike and says, "get on. I'll give you a ride." Same thing happened on Koh Chang; I was kms away from where I was staying and an obviously torrential rain storm was blowing in. A farmer on his motorbike stops and says something to the effect of "get on, it's gonna piss down raining." I got on, he took me to where I was going, and as soon as I got off his bike, the heavens opened up as he headed back in the direction we had come from. Another time, I had just arrived in Nan and was having a wander around and a local guy comes up to me with his young child and he has some bottles of water in his bike basket, and he picks one up and says "have some water." I like these positive sounding posts.

Thanks

A policeman gave me a ride to hospital to find my girl on my first day on my own.. 135 Honda..

Nice story from OP and good to hear some positive things for a change.

Yes thankfully there are still many nice Thais around, 3 days ago I was looking for a very high specs SD card (32 GB SanDisk Extreme Plus) for my new camera and the the Thai man in the shop I visited quickly found the card I was looking for by asking around in other shops nearby and I only had to pay the sticker price and he was very polite too.

I fitted the card in my camera and everything was good so I paid and left and 1 min later he came running and gave me a printed receipt.
