Another <deleted> moment. Residence certificate vs Yellow Book

Featured Replies

I sold a motorbike to someone whom has been in the country for 3 weeks, and he needs to put the green book in his name. I supplied copies of my Passport with my current 1 year visa based on support of a Thai wife, and a copy of my yellow book of 5 years and it is not sufficient for the Land Transportation Office.

For his 3 weeks here, a 6 month visa, and a hotel receipt he has a residence certificate. How do I get one for the Moran at the Land Transportation Office. I have no Landlord, I have no contract for my residence, I just completely, and wholly own the Damn place. """"My Residence"""".

What do I need to get a Residence Certificate. I have a valid Yellow Book already.

I heard rental contract, or work permit. I have neither.

I do have a valid passport with a one year visa based on support of Thai wife,

Not sure this solves your problem ....BUT if they want a rental agreement....give them one! Draw one up with your wife as the landlord and you as the tenant ....make up whatever terms you want ...but now you have a rental agreement so you can get a residence certificate ....No sense in butting heads with a Buffalo. Give him what he wants.

You can get a residence certificate with no problem at the Immigration Office on Soi 5 for 200 Baht.

I show a condo utility bill for ResCert.

You appear to be a bit excitable. That may work against you when dealing with Thai bureaucrats.

Take it easy we are here to help

I don 't suppose you could bother to tell us which Land Transport Office will not accept your Yellow Book as proof of residence, or are we supposed to search your profile to find out where you might be located so that we can guess which LTO you might be using ?

Thanks,

I think showing electric, cable, and telephone bills, plus condominium fees should suffice.

Great!!!

Thanks for the advice....

You are correct....

Should avoid butting heads with someone that has a very thick head ;-)

A yellow book is essentially is a residence certificate.

A yellow book is essentially is a residence certificate.

Not according to the OP "his" Land Transport Office will not accept it but since he won't tell us where it can't be disputed by those who may have used that particular LTO
