homemade514
Hey all. I have a non-o single entry volunteer visa which expires in august and I am married to a thai woman and we have a son (born here) and am looking to either extend this visa based on marriage at immigration or leaving the country and applying for the non-o based on marriage.... is it possible to extend based on marriage at immigration where I live from the type of visa I already have or am I going to need to go to Laos to apply for it? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
ubonjoe
Are you on a non-o visa or an extension of stay you got at immigration? You can do the extension of stay with either but for an extension you would have to cancel it before changing to one based upon marriage.

ubonjoe
You can apply for the one year extension of stay based upon marriage during the last 30 days of your current entry. You will need to have 400K baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 60 days or 40k baht income proven by a letter from your embassy.

Copies of passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card also. I suggest you check with you local immigration office to confirm their requirements because some may want additional documents or photos of your house.
