Flying to and from Cambodia

Featured Replies

Hello fellow travelers and residents.

I am planning on flying to Siem Reap Cambodia, staying for 3 nights and then flying back to Thailand this weekend. I've heard that Cambodian/Thai borders are virtually closed. Is this true? Is there a difference between flying to Cambodia and back to Thailand, or Kuala Lumpur and Thailand as far as visa regulations go; considering the current political and visa situations.

Thanks

The border is open but they are putting tight restrictions for re-entry. If you have 3 or more border crossings already the are only giving 7 days.

Flying out and back you should not have a problem. But you should be prepared to show financial proof it asked for. Staying out for a couple of days would help.

Thanks for the info. And a bit of reassurance.

Cheers!

HI.....I flew to KL and back yesterday (after previously: 1 X land crossing and 1 X air crossing, back-to-back). Absolutely no problems.

Slightly off-topic....there never seems to be a request for onward travel proof when coming from a neighbouring country as opposed (I sometimes read on TV) to long haul. Consequently Brits, for example, could long haul into Malaysia (no visa required, 3 months exemption) and then do an Air Asia to Bkk. But is that "not cricket"?

Dont forget the $20 for visa and is there still a $25 departure fee from Cambodia by air?

Departure tax has been included in the ticket price for the last 3-4 years.

Ubon Joe, you said " If you have 3 or more border crossings already the are only giving 7 days.:

Do you mean consecutive border crossings, or 3 border crossings in 6 months or 12 months?

I had been doing a border crossing in-out then getting a 2 month extension based on marriage, then another border crossing followed by another 2 month extension based on marriage etc.

It is 3 consecutive crossings. There is no time period.

I am not sure how they will count them with the extension.

I suggest you make a trip to Savannakhet Laos and get a multiple entry non-o via based upon marriage. They don't ask for financial proof.
