Getting an ED Visa after the coup

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm in Europe right now, I was planning to come back in Thailand in July or August, and I was about to start the process of getting an ED visa before I come back (since I have multiple Tourist Visa and Visa exemption already..).

With the current situation I'm not sure it's such a good idea anymore, I wonder if the services of the Ministry of Education and the other services involved are working normally. Maybe I should expect some delays, or expect my application to be lost?

25.000 baht ain't a small amount so I prefer to make sure everything will be ok.

I think you'll find that things are working much better now than before the coup. Even Chaeng Wattana is due to re-open on Monday.

Thus far there have been no changes. You should have no problem getting an extension of stay after arriving with a single entry non-ed visa.
