BANGKOK, May 31 - Government House officials on Friday moved belongings back into their offices, before resuming operations on June 2, after a six months hiatus when anti-government protesters took over the building.

Officials and employees of Government House have been inspecting the building's readiness, including the office of the secretary-general, the prime minister's office, permanent secretary-general's office, command center and Naree Samosorn building, as well as the media room, to ensure that all is in good order.

Officials then later brought their personal belongings and equipment back into their offices, and cleaned up their working spaces in preparation for a full working day starting June 2.

Meanwhile, former Police Commissioner, Police General Adul Saengsingkeao and his work entourage would also now be located at the Prime Minister Office, where authorities have been arranging working spaces and offices for the new arrivals.

In the meantime, the Santi Maitree Building, the main gathering venue of the People's Democracy Reform Committee (PDRC) during their take over of the location, would remain closed for the time being, though clean up at the building has already been completed.

In addition, the Government House is scheduled to have a Big Cleaning Day today before it resumes full operation on Monday, June 2nd. (MCOT online news)

Which officials are left to take up their offices?

They will need at least one floor for all those who were transferred to inactive post. Also hope EOD paid a visit to government house who knows what the anti-government protesters could have forgot about.

Don't worry Bob as Tarit is no longer in charge to mysteriously find guns and explosives left behind planted.

For 6 months the PTP and the toothless CAPO were unable to do what the General has done in a week. Open government house, stop the deaths, invite reform and pay the farmers.

Opening govt house is a step back to normality. A step towards true democracy. Everything is starting to steam along swimmingly again.

I would say they were FORBIDDEN to do that. "toothless" is a correct definition for something with not the power to do something.

Given they have been out their offices 6 months, and they inspected and moved their stuff back in on Friday does not seem much clearing up to do.

Of coerce the previous incumbent elected officials were of the the party that makes a mess wherever they go so i think there will be a few ministers offices that will need clearing of a lot of detritus but then there are no ministers using those offices at present..
