60 day TR visa extension

Featured Replies

Hi,
I'm on a double entry 60 day TR Visa issued in Australia and currently staying in Khon Kaen. Ultimately I'd like to get a retirement visa.

I entered Thailand on 17 April and have leave by stamp of 15 June. The enter before date is 7 July.

I have to go to Bali for 4 days on 24 July.

I am thinking of driving from Khon Kaen to Vientiane to get the 60 day extension before 15 June and was wondering if someone can confirm this is ok to get in Vientiane, and also offer any tips for expediting the process when I'm there.

The other thing I need to find out; is it possible to get a retirement visa when I'm in Bali or can I only get it in Australia?

Thanks for any relevant advice you can offer wai2.gif

You can get a 30 day extension at Khon Kaen Immigration.

There is no need to go to Vientienne to activate your second entry.

Cross the border at Nong Kai and return.

A 12 month extension for retirement can be got at Immigration in Thailand if you have the financial requirements.

A Non Imm O-A Visa can only be got from your own Country.

Thanks Lite Beer. I thought rather than do the 30 day extension at Khon Kaen immigration probably better to do the 60 day as this would then let me stay until I go to Bali on 24 July.

Mainly wondering about the situation re extending at Vientiane and retirement visa.

To start you 2nd entry you just cross the bridge after clearing Thai immigration. Then get a Lao visa on arrival and enter Laos. Then turn around and depart Laos and re-enter Thailand using your visa to start your 2nd entry.

When you go to Bali take some financial proof with you and apply for a single entry non-o visa while you are there the Thai consulate there.

Then during the last 30 days or the 90 day entry you will get from the visa you can apply for your extension of stay based upon retirement.

Thanks for that Ubonjoe. I think that answers my questions.
