I mean why every thai is using this, saying same same, I mean it is so funny. They probably know we mock them for it , or the dont? I mean I saw falangs with shirs saying same same. Or Up to you. Each time I get happy when hearing this. Is this the biggest mushup of english language ever?

THe phrase is really sweet, I mean why they do it??

obviously your thai is even more mushed up or u would know why?

yes i could but i have a problem with folks that criticize and make fun of thais and thailand without understanding anything about their language and culture and so I'll leave it to someone else if you dont mind. IF, rather than make fun of something , you simply asked someone why things are a certain way, I'm sure you'd get better results.

Who is "making fun" of Thai`s or Thailand?

Have you ever been treated like this when asking something about Thailand or Thai habits?

By the way, have you got a high horse parked somewhere?

which part of "we mock them for it" confused you??

Maybe it's a slang term.

"I mean I saw falangs with shirs saying same same."

What are 'shirs'?

I'm always happy to learn something new ...

Nothing did, nor did the general gist of the op.

shirts, with same same, or up to you, is mocking, but seems to me just fun. But I think Thais do not even get it.

I will start printing these shirts maybe. Another would be sick buffalo image with a thermometer in the mouth.

ok up to you, even though you are probably some old raising falang, with burned red leather skin, symphatizing with thais, I doubt this is the right attitude for you. There is nothing wrong to mock somebody for the funy phrases they use. No harm done.

Your answers are just same same, up to you if you do not want to explain

to them, they arent funny phrases. there is plenty wrong with mocking someone who is trying to speak a foreign language in his own country, especially when you cant speak more than a few words of his. its typical western superciliousness.

if you want to lower yourself to the same level as those types of thais, expect criticism

Just tell the guy.

In English we say 2 things look the same. In Thai it doesn't work like that. They would say that looks

same as that looks the same.(kind of)

Then some genius printed off tshirts with same same but different.

My Sister (when a first time visitor to Thailand) saw the 'Same but Different' T-Shirt really liked it but didn't buy it at the time.

Later decided she wanted one ... we spent a 1/2 day tramping through lower suk and MBK trying to get one ... facepalm.gif

That same troll that has been on the forums for years.

"is this the biggest mushup of english language ever?"

No, not even close to your "mushup" of the English language.

Would be a bit more respectful towards Thailand yourself if you used capital letters.
