My only words is YOUR paper is very slow in reporting as this incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning as reported in most other papers and online.....wai2.gif

P.S. Personally I think before name calling i.e. stupid, one should attempt to get one's facts correct as it rather makes that person look somewhat an imbecile... just saying.

Only stupid IF they remain live, which is doubtful, although nothing would surprise me here given the live cables running all over the floor at local markets, wires simply twisted together.

Never assume a downed cable is dead or you may end up that way.

Irrelevant if they are deemed to be live or dead (although clearly they are dead and any fool could see that from the scene of the picture and the fact the article doesnt say "people electrocuted"...anyone with a even a modicom of common sense would never even take the chance...thats the point

In the picture one young man looks like would be a good candidate for the next Darwin Award .

You can call what you want, no links but many hours sometimes days spent on Bribie Island and the Darling Downs without electricity, just because some power company plonker did not turn the power off before commencing work on downed power lines,as a young soldier learned a great respect for power cables, after having to recover the body of a military leccymech burned to a crisp working on a power line which he did not check was turned off,the soldier was a member of 59sqn RE on Operation crown in 1965!!

So. if they are CLEARLY dead, how is that colossal stupidity? Or, maybe we should also avoid the wire section at the hardware store.

Nuff said, anywhere in the world.
