How soon can you make a 30 day extension on a tourist visa?

Recommended Posts

I will be going back to the club Andaman in Ranong to the next entry on my tourist visa. Apparently I can also extend the 60 day by another 30 days. Can I make the extension at the same time that I stamp back in to Thailand? And can they give me an extension at the immigration at the Casino.

You have to the 30 day extension at an immigration office it cannot be done at a border crossing..

You can do the extension during the last 30 days of your 60 day entry. You can do it for the one you have now.

whistling.gif Do you actually have a single entry tourist visa at this time.?

If so when you can in you were stamped for a 60 day stay. (permitted to stay stamp}

That visa has a 30 day visa extension possible at immigration INSIDE Thailand.

They normally like you to apply for that extension 30 days before your permit to enter will expire.

It will cost you 1900 Baht for the fee for that extension.

Some or most immigration offices can do the extension at any time within the 60 days.

Check with your local immigration office when they do the extension.

I got mine yesterday - 5/6/14 - and my initial 60-days would have been up on 26/6/14. I recall reading something about 'not more than 30 days and not less than 15' but that may have been a different visa. From the various conversations about me, quite a few at Jomtien had left it to the last minute to go and see Immigration but I like to give myself plenty of time on the basis that it's easy to just let things slide as a deadline approaches.

There is no less than 15 days rule for extensions of any kind. The only 15 day rule is for converting to a non immigrant visa.

It is normally the last 30 days but some offices allow 45 days early. For tourist visas there are some offices that say 15 days is the earliest..

FYI: Phuket immigration will do the extension on tourist visa at any stage of your 60 days.

So it is not possible to do the extension at the casino. Can I do the extension straight away when I stamp in or not. Everytime someone posts on here they say something different to everyone else.

It might be possible to do the extension straight away if there is an immigration office next to the border. At Mae Sot, which is much further north of Ranong, that is exactly the case as the immigration office there is less than 100m from the border crossing.

In Ranong, I believe there is also an immigration office, so you should be able to come back to the Thai side from Myanmar and get an extension straight away at the nearest immigration office, if they allow you to extend straight away. If they don't you'll have to wait for a month or so before you become eligible.

No you cannot get the 30 day extension for your tourist visa entry at the Casino it is in Myanmar.

You have to apply at an immigration office. If you are in Phuket you can do ti at the office there.

I have a 3 entry tourist visa. As I understand ubonjoe, I can apply for an extension at an immigration office no more than 30 days before I have to depart. Joe, Can I apply for an extension for each of my 3 entries?
