you have read about historical people and so the concept of them exists in your brain. not difficult to imagine a dream could flesh out that concept and make room for you in the story

One of the most enjoyable exercises- sometimes- is to just "look" in the river. When a person closes their eyes and just watches the stream of thoughts and images that randomly pass by on the screen inside- if they really watch closely- dispassionately- they will see images and faces they've never met. Why? I don't know. I believe it's related to an earlier post I've made. Others would say the mind processes billions of more data per sensory stream then we can process, what's needed is realized, but the rest is still not lost- thus the random bits. I don't agree entirely with the second concept.

I never took acid though I did sell it to others; so this disconnects that idea.

rolleyes.gif Unless you're willing to get very deep, very fast, you should leave that question well alone.

There are many opposed opinons on that and a debate can get VERY bitter among advocates of both sides.

It's like walking blindfolded in a minefield. and very soon someting is going to explode if you keep walking there.

You have been warned.

For your info: What "Karma" is and the "reality" of past lives is probaby the major item of debate on "Buddhist" forums.

Hello; go deep, fast, means a meditative state, to me; but your meaning this topic may somehow unintentionally finesse an issue that by its deep or scary nature, should be left alone? If so, I don't live in a world where the unknown compels me. As for me, I've no mastery of any topic therefore I could hardly be an advocate. I presume that were any other an "advocate" of a particular thread of information regarding such esoteric topics they would be a master? It is unquestionably true that a master who employs emotion or coercion is a charlatan, not an "advocate." A true master might counsel, but will watch idly as you stumble into a wall, time after time, for "the truth echoes in the ears until the heart is prepared to hear."

This admonishment seems personal and it quite possibly exists in your own perception. I, for one, as likely most, do not inject emotion into a intellectual conversation- "biter." The presence of emotions such as "bitter" in such a discussion, by definition, suggests the mental poverty of the writer. Emotion is a decidedly a wholly owned subsidiary of the flesh!

When you note such intractable positions where one is "bitter" or unhinged by a contrary concept, disregard that person entirely and reject their counsel. Truth will never package itself as exclusive or definitive. Truth will always remain vague, dispassionate, and conciliatory.
