Non - Immigarnt B Visa / Work Permit

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was just wondering, I am actually working in Thailand and I have my Non - Immigrant B visa + Work Permit.

My question is, what if one day I get "laid off" by my company or I quit, how long can I stay in Thailand?

I know that my work permit will be cancelled but what happens to my Non - Immigrant B visa?will it be cancel too?

Thanks for the advice

Hoania

If your on extension of stay you don't have a non-B and you have to leave the country once the job is finished

If you are on a non-imm B ie you have to "visa" run every 3 months your good until the expiry date of your visa

A visa will not be cancelled, but if you are on an extension of stay your stay will be cancelled.

In that case you have to elave the coutnry the same day your employement ends, but can ask for an extra 7 days to leave the country. Or to apply for another reason to stay in the country, such as marriage to a Thai national.

Thanks all...this helps.

I have to go to the Immigration office every 90 days to "check in".

Last time the Immigration officer stamp in my passport a stamp saying that i am permitted to stay in the Kingdom untill the 31st December 2014.

Can I still stay in the Kingdom if I leave my job or get "laid off" before that date?

Cheers

You are on an Extension of Permission to Stay, if this is based on Working in the Kingdom of Thailand, then you have to exit Thailand the day you leave your job and the WP is cancelled.
