Social Security Board To Check The Transparency Of The Purchase Of Wattachak Building

Social Security board will check the transparency of the purchase of Wattachak Building

The board of the Social Security Office (SSO) is waiting for SSO report on its plan to buy Wattachak (วัฏจักร) Building before deciding whether the purchase is transparent or not.

Board chairman Surin Jirawisit (สุรินทร์ จิรวิศิษฎ์) said he has not yet seen details of the plan so could not comment if there were irregularities involved.

There were reports that SSO would use 500 million baht from the Social Security Fund to buy Wattachak Building and turn it into the Social Security Office Region 6 and a training centre.

The purchase was made through a private firm allegedly at inflated price, however.

Mr. Surin asked the media to closely follow up the matter.

He said an inquiry would be conducted if the plan lacked transparency.
