Sending a JBL SB200 from the US to thailand

Featured Replies

My friend in the US can get me this great deal on his new JBL SB200 speaker. He's wants to sell to me at a really great price and will ship it too me. My questions is if he sends it united states postal service will they open the box and then see thats it's going to a farang and tax it heavy or is it better to put a thai name on it.

Name wont matter, just dont send it Express or use any form of courier or you will get fleeced.

For paperwork purposes tell him to put low value and "used" just in case.

CharlieH,

Thanks for the info. I was going to tell him to insure it for around $150.00 and ask for it to be signed when it get here. Will that cause it to be taxed???

Its only $130 on the net new so 2nd hand it aint worth that but thats up to you, just remember the higher the value the more you are going to get stung IF it does get stopped.

As an example: someone sent me something from usa, they made the mistake of sending it express, value $170 I had to pay 2000 baht! Or around $65 to get it.
