Yes you can obtain a re entry permit but do you need it? If you are from one of the 41 countries that obtain a 30 day stay without visa that might be enough for the remainder of your time after you return from Cambodia. If not perhaps you should arrive at Don Muang and request they stamp you for 30 days (do not fill in visa information on arrival card) and they will likely do for you. Then use the tourist visa when you return from Cambodia. No extra charge involved in this plan.

i never knew you can get an re-ntry permit for tourist visa, is it possible?

just pretent i got a single tourist visa for 60day, i stay for 30days and decided to have a trip out of the country for a few day, do i go down to immigration and ask for re entry permit, they than issue me a re-entry, when i return i will still get the same expire date as on the tourist when i first enter.

how much does it cost for a re-entery on a tourist visa status?

1,000 baht so for most people it would not be a viable option when they have a free 30 day entry.

Click for the re-entry application form, TM8:

http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/tm8.doc

The form shows the visa the applicant might be holding. Fees are shown at the bottom.

A holder of an Italian passport is allowed entry into Thailand without visa for a period of 30 days so just ask to use that when you enter at Don Muang and don't fill out the visa portion of your arrival card. They are likely to allow this and then you will have 30 days before you need to exit. As you seem to plan travel before that 30 days would be over you just exit and go to other country and when you return from that other country you use the visa you already have in your passport by putting that information into the visa portion of the arrival card and you then have a 60 day entry. No need for any re entry permit doing it this way.

Just to answer the OP's original question, you can get a re-entry permit on ANY visa.

Have you received a 2 entry Visa?

If not , would suggest to follow Lopburi3 advise and ask at Don Muang not to use the visa on your first entry.

Getting the re-entry etc is costly and timeconsuming .

The official rules say that one cannot reserve a visa for future use so it is all down to the discretion or goodwill of the duty officer.
