What document to use for Type O - non imm - single entry

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Currently my girlfriend and I are anxiously looking for a possibility to obtain a new VISA for her. Let me brief you on our situation:

I have a VISA type B and a Workpermit, both valid for 2 years.

She has a non immi. type O -single entry visa, based on my VISA and our partnership document.

Her VISA is expiring in 2 weeks.

In Holland, where we've obtained her Visa, you can have either a Marriage certificate, Registered partnership document, or a Cohabition contract to obtain a type O visa. We have the last one. We are not married but are living together officially. I've also signed a letter stating that I'm financially responsible for her.

We now face the following difficulties:

1. the contract is in Dutch,

2. The translation offices need an official stamp from the Dutch embassy,

3. The Dutch embassy cannot provide us with this stamp from Thailand. This needs to be done in Holland.

4. IF we get the above done, we are still not sure if our document is accepted by the immigration.

Could you please advise us in this painful route? Can we perhaps extend her current VISA so she has more time to find a job? Or should we apply for another type of Visa? Perhaps there are companies who can help us with this?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

Robin

Thailand does not recognize civil partnerships nor the cohabitation contract. Thus immigration will not do a dependent extension for your girlfriend.

She can get another 90 day entry by up to the date her visa expires.

Thanks for your swift reply!

I was already afraid of that. Many contradictions in the different answers. Most important thing is to buy some time. Could you please inform me how to get another 90 days? Just go to the immigrations and refresh?

Thank you.

Robin

Seeing that your friends non-O visa was valid for a single entry, she can get nothing more out of it. Her best option seems to be a double-entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate in Vientiane or Savannakhet, in Laos.
