PATTAYA:--On Thursday Afternoon, Nongprue Police arrested a 51 year old Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer following a seizure of illegal firearms and two-way radios from his East Pattaya home.

Acting on search warrant number 106/2557 dated 19th June 2014 and issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court, officers converged on the house of Khun Pongtaerp following intelligence suggesting a large number of unregistered firearms were being kept at the location.

The information was correct and a total of four guns, two handguns and two pump-action shot guns were seized along with ammunition and 5 two-way radios. Some of the weapons were unlicensed and a license to possess a two-way radio was also not forthcoming.

None of those appear to be homemade.

Probably bragged up his collection.

I hadn't realized there were restriction on 2-way radios. Is this only because of the coup?

Thanks

Two ways are a restricted item, authorised people only. Some people use possession of them to make like they are connected, have seen them flashed the same way a gun is flashed in other places.
