does anyone know the going price and where to find?

No idea anymore about the prices (too long ago), but check the Big Plant market, Saturdays & Sundays near to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital on Sukhumvit.

Prices vary in the 15 to 40 baht a sq m range, mainly in the lower end. Quality varies quite a bit, some of it can be a bit threadbare. I live in Chonburi and have had it from the Chonburi market and a place in Bang Saen. The Bang Saen turf was 25 baht and not too bad. Let me know if you want directions.

Thai 25 per sqm, Malay 30 per sqm, most garden shops on Suk towards Sattahip.

I thought you pay for grass by the gram...
