Has anyone reversed ios 7 on an iphone 4? There are plenty of YouTube posts and advise columns on the net but it's all gibberish to me. My iphone 4 is now so slow it is practically unusable so I'd rather go back to ios 6

Do you have the latest version, 7.1.1?

If you can't find a site with easy-to-follow directions then you should find a local phone shop that can do it for you.

If you want to try it yourself, look for a site that has step-by-step instructions, AND look at the comments to verify that it works or has issues.

Do you know what SHSH blobs are? Do you have them for 6.x.x? If not, forget about downgrading the OS. It can't be done.

If I'm posting on this forum, do you think I know what you are talking about? Assuming you know what you are talking about??

^If you don't know what SHSH blobs are, you obviously don't have them, since you would need to know what they were in order to save them at the time 6.x.x was still being signed by Apple.

Short answer to your question: you can't downgrade your OS.

Most people upgrading their device just push the GO button because they just want the free new stuff.

They don't bother researching forums seeking out friendly warnings or ways to preserve a path back.

And when things don't happen they way they wanted, they want an easy (and free) way to undo it.

Apple doesn't provide downgrading the OS with iProducts.

Some hackers have developed ways to revert back to previous iOS versions, but most require that the user previously saved a copy of "the digital signatures that Apple generates and uses to personalize IPSW (iOS software) files for each device", "part of Apple's protocol designed to ensure that trusted software is installed on the device" [wikipedia]. The so-called "shsh blobs" are specific to each iPhone and each iOS version.

So, OP, just give it up. It's not gonna happen.
