90 day report, no more late reporting tolerated? Any experience?

Featured Replies

I have two vague reports that there would be no more 7 day grace period for "late" 90 day reports while earlier reports would still be OK.

Does anyone have first hand experiences from recent days?

Sounds like a rumor.

It has been the same for many years and it is allowed in the immigration act so I doubt very much it will be changed.

.

and you can still go 5 days early if you want?

You can do the report up to 15 days early.

why do you think any leeway should be allowed for lateness it seems to me it is always the foreigners who whinge about the Thais being late or unreliable

Unless there is an emergency I cannot see any reason to be late. It's important so don't be late

Have to agree, why have you to turn up late; if train or plane its gone;

Important? If you don't report, would anybody other than immigration officials notice?

Anyone know - Has Chaeng Wattana started accepting mail-in reports again?

Thanks

It's important because it has a direct and immediate effect on you.

It's mandatory to report every 90 days and you will be found out next time you pass through immigration or are involved in anything where the police wants your passport. So why would you not be on time.

They never stopped accepting them. So no need to start again.

There is nothing wrong with reporting a day or two late.

I don't travel so I try to keep my report date close to when my extension is due so there is no need for an extra trip. I sometimes report late to keep it that way because of the 5 day loss every year.

There is never a early report if it falls on the weekend or a holiday.

Exactly that is my reason too.

I have a 100 km drive to immigration and want to keep 90 day reports and yeary extension in sync.

The comments about Farang "being late" are useless.

As long as the rules are valid I am not late!

My Reporting date was the 15th June (which was on a Sunday) so that's why I went on the 16th, so there are sometimes reason why you (sometimes) have to report late.

I respect all the comments about reporting late but why on earth would you do this. There is no excuse, if you cant report on the day report early.

It is a report of being here for more than 90 days - it should not even be due until that time has elapsed. The requirement is to provide report 15 days prior until 7 days after that 90 day date. You are not doing late by following the rules.

  1. The notification must be made within 15 days before or after 7 days the period of 90 days expires.
