Kawasaki working on 250cc 4 cylinder engine against Yamaha R25?

Featured Replies

Oh please let it be more than a rumor :D

I always thought if the big four saw enough possible buyer in quarter liter again

they may resurrect this type of engine.

Keeping finger crossed as a modern 4 cyl FI engine

in a modern properly sprung frame would be nice

Dont mind the pics of the old bike it

is just ref

That engine would be sweet.

Back in 1997 Suzuki did a concept car called the C2 that had a 1.6L twin turbo V8.

It's a shame all the small bikes today are so low tech with steel frames, but the new R15 is an improvement.

I think the last great small sportbike was the Aprilia RS250.

That was pretty much a street legal GP bike, but I could never find one for sale when I lived in LA.

One would think a rotary powered motorcycle would be re-made by now.

Or a hybrid powered bike that got ridiculous mileage.

"The Suzuki C2 was a promising and well proportioned two seat sports car concept first revealed at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show."

Oh yer, looks good even today! With a conventional 4 cylinder engine, new wheels and colour coded flairs that thing would fly out the showrooms today.

Suzuki would be smart to consider it as a neo-retro remake of something they didn't make!

I just don't think they'd make a 250cc 4 cyl. The cost of manufacturer would be the same as making a larger cc 4 cyl. Honda made the original 250cbr (4 cyl) that IIRC cost new the same as a 600cc bike.
