Two month tourist visa in PP or Laos (after multiple overstays !)

Featured Replies

I know I might be pushing the envelope a bit considering the times. However, I am currently on a 30 day visa-on-arrival and wish to obtain a two month tourist visa next week in PP Cambodia or Laos, but preferably PP as I am staying close to the border at the moment. I must admit I have been a bad boy. I have four overstay stamps in my passport and they gave me quite a hard time at the airport a few weeks back but let me in after signing in my passport that I will obtain a visa at an embassy !! I plan on marrying my girlfriend of four years after this but I will not have time on this occasion, although she will be accompanying me so she can submit any letters and ID card copies etc. Does any have any ideas on how best to tackle this?

As others have said, you may have really screwed up with the overstays, there is a new topic discussing blacklists. Also, if you can be bothered to look, there are reports that generally don't paint the Consulate in PP as very friendly. You probably would be better to Savanakhet, Laos.

Thanks, Beech guy !! Actually I did bother to look but it is quite time consuming getting through the crap.!! I have overstayed but I am not at the moment, But, yes, I fell in love with girl and overstayed a few times. My sincerest appologies for damaging the good name of farang community...

It is time to start all over again on this topic. I have removed some abusive and unhelpful posts and replies to them.

How long have your overstays been?

You would of been better off to of gotten a tourist visa before leaving you home country.

As said .PP is not the best location to get visas. But if you hire an agent you should be able to get your visa in a couple of days instead of waiting 4 days.

Thanks Ubonjoe !! I will avoid PP on yours and the advice of others. I have overstayed for about ten months on two occasions and a few months on a couple of other occasions. I guess I was lulled into a false sense of security as I always paid the fine and had no problems re-entering until now. However, I have spent some months in between in other countries (including my home country) without overstaying and I have only engaged in the "traditional" visa runs on one or two occasions. Immigration at the airport assured me that I have not been placed on a black list (thus granting my current 30 day visa) so there is that I guess, but I am not too keen to have my application rejected. Would you recommend hiring a visa agent here in Thailand before I go or after I leave?

I only suggested the visa agent for PP because that is the best way to get a visa there. Anywhere else you will not need an agent.

Great ! So I should be ok with acquiring a 60 day visa in Loas?

You should not have a problem in Laos. You can get a get a 2 entry tourist visa there.
