In-grown toenail specialists in BKK?

Featured Replies

I have a toenail fungus that results in very thick toenails cutting into the bed of flesh that they lay on, making it difficult to walk. Every 4 months, I cut 1/8 inch off the sides of the big toenails, all the way up. This hurts like hell and it's bloody, but it's the only way.

Are their pros in Bangkok who can do this kind of thing for a fee (any maybe less painfully).

I suffered with ingrown toenails (big toes only) for years and used to trim the sides with a Stanley knife, which required a very steady hand. Eventually my local GP in Australia removed the nail beds under a local anaesthetic and never had a problem since. He did manage to cut himself during the op and then asked me if I'd mind getting my blood tested for HIV, which I consented to, but never thought to ask him if he'd consent to the same thing. Any competent GP in Thailand should be able to perform the same operation I would have thought.

dblaisde you have my utmost sympathy and I doubt if you and I are alone in our suffering.

I have an ingrowing big toenail on my right foot and I have had it on and off since 1993.

My UK doctor sliced and cut the nail right back on the bad side and promised that it would never grow again.

He lied.

Now I go every couple of months to my local Thai doctor who stabs my toe 3 times (innoculations) and trims it back. 300 baht and little pain for 6 or 7 weeks.

The other doctor (his wife) won't do it for me. I suspect it is because the nail is very thick and she does not eat enough Popeye food (spinach).

bangkok hospital; dr. cherdpong hansasuta.m.d. runs the podiatry clinic there. very good doctor!! i have had a toe nail fungus for years and he has me using some medicine that you apply to the nails and i have seen a big improvement in 3months. he also does shoe inserts.
