This statement from the original post is sort of scary. Sounds like he is simply waiting to do

what he did after the coup in 2007. Let the military fumble around for a while, then when the

next elections rolls around , Thaksin starts a new party with a new puppet, and the looting

starts anew. Hopefully Prayuth is aware of this , and will work hard to cut the head off of the

hydra that is the Thakin clan prior to any election..

I think and hope they have learnt from their mistakes. Cancer has to be taken out aggresively.

Must be pretty crap having all that money and being as miserable as sin. Can't go home and always looking over his shoulder for the sniper.

When the disgrunted Thai people could legally raise funds to put the 'great leader' down, my guess is there would be so much money available it would not be a sniper he should then be afraid of, but squadrons of high-tech drones... (In fact, I don't understand how, nor why, this character is still alive)

Birthday party in Paris? I wonder if Thailand and France have an extradition treaty

They have cowardice in common.

Blimey! His birthday is 26th July. That's the same as Mick Jagger's. See HERE.

I'm sure whenever Thaksin thinks of his sister, he starts humming this

Well, "Time is on my side" does not seem an appropriate theme song for himself under the circumstances.

An irrelevant story about a non-event that has no bearing on the current situation -- a perfect junta news story.

Who knows, by now I expect he's had his 19th nervous breakdown. OTOH this could be the last time he celebrates such a day?

(Plagiating the chants of the Iranese revolutionary guards when they were burning stars-and-stripes as if it were fags:)

"Bah-bah-Shin(a)watra!" "Bah-bah-Shin(a)watra!"

(Even sounds right, and means something comparable in Thai, LOL)

When they'd not be Shia, I'd have sent a flock to Dubai to demonstrate under the 'great leader''s windows (LOL again)

It was such a relief that after the coup we were no longer bombarded with annoying (and completely unnecessary) Thaksin headlines splashed across front pages every other day.

Now merely one month and a half in, it starts all over again. Are we going back to the old days and will report on every fart this guy omits? I surely hope not.

Punish the man by completely ignoring him, something the media should have started doing years ago.

The only worthwhile headline will be the one announcing his funeral - somewhere far, far away in a foreign land.

"The merit-making ceremony, which is also held to drive away any bad luck the deposed former premier is experiencing..." -- Well, that has worked out exceptionally well, hasn't it? In the end he created his bad luck by his own hand through constant meddling and hypocritical interfering. No merit-making whatsoever can clean up the mess he brought unto himself.

Thaksin has gone unusually quiet these last few weeks, which is worrying, people like him don't go away,In my opinion he's Replotting Regrouping and Returning!

Feel sorry for the old chap.

In Thailand as Thai he would be five years past his retirement age now.

...and it never did and it never will.

He will get his temple ceremony one day and he will be the guest of honor.

There will be celebration and merit making throughout the land.

And the vultures will be seen hovering over the carcass fighting for their share of the billions.

He could always come home to Thailand to celebrate his birthday........

"Bangkok: Thailand's powerful army has challenged fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra to return and fight the legal charges against him......"We would like to see him come back and fight the legal charges against him. If he is confident he can win, then he will be able to return to politics," said Gen Chatchalerm Chalermsukh."

So has the beheaded one, Jatuporn, Nattawut and Tida. That makes me happy. Edited by Skywalker69

OK his birthday is over, but for those who really, really miss him try and watch this to the end.

A prat shreiking into a microphone to an empty room. Maybe he didn't pay his great red army enough to attend.cheesy.gif

He is a tragic figure.

Why honor a corrupt mental midget with a birthday celebration? Many feel it is a tragedy the man has lived one more year. He was one of the least loyal Thai citizens and one of the most decisive for many years. Hopefully he is becoming irrelevant. He is a boil on the face of Thailand. He is a cancer eating away at the country. Let him live out his remaining years in obscurity. Thaksin who?

He is a tragic figure.

Unfortunately: not tragic enough....yet!... The Military Junta has done the impossible and managed to shut him up,let's hope it will continue, the more he is silenced, the less threat he is is to the people of Thailand!

Let's hope he runs out of Birthdays before he does any more damage to the Country!

Let's not be too lavish with the remaining years of obscurity?

Sorry, my bad. Devisive to be sure. Decisive about nothing except his own interests, and coming up with ways of hurting his own country, and stealing other peoples money.
