Do you get on well with Thai People?
Judging by the photo, and she is no doubt a lovely person, I suspect she is not unused to being handcuffed and her ponytail being gripped. She seems like a lot of fun. -

Belgian 80, Attacked and Robbed by Teenage Gang on Christmas Day in Pattaya
Why must some people always mention America when violence happens here? Thailand has an extreme amount of daily violence and a higher intentional homicide rate than the US, and the US is nowhere near the only country with violence. Monthly mass shootings happen here also, as well as many more who use knives, machetes and sometimes swords. Most gun violence in the US is gang related or suicides, yet some think it's people running around shooting people they don't know. Cowards are in the daily news here, with video proof, daily, where it's usually 1 against 4, 5 or more armed with weapons, and kicking victims when they're down. -

Small appliance repair at Amorn shop: good result
Old timers in Chiang Mail will certainly know about this, but I didn't when I first arrived. So this is for newcomers. Amorn electronics shop also does repairs. Any electric / electronic equipment; not limited to what they sell at their shop. (But not mobile phones.) Service is dependable & careful, but likely not the cheapest in town. Recently I had an Hatari air filter repaired at Amorn. The main control board and display had died. I had expected long delay to get a spare part. But Amorn technician suggested a repair that completely bypassed the control circuit. Just installed two simple switches for "on-off" and "speed 1-2-3-4". Works very well. I've had other small repairs like that done at Amorn. Always pleased with the results. And pleased with the ingenuity and helpful attitude of the technicians. PS - For those who aren't familiar with Thai alphabet, it looks like the name is "O.H.S." or something like that. But asking where is "OHS shop" will get total confusion from Thais. The logo image above is a highly stylized rendering of the Thai letters, อมร = "A.M.R." Which in itself is confusing because in Thai language, the vowel "oh" is often not written, just assumed. So to save newcomers some grief, just show the red logo above to your Grab driver and you'll get to the right place.
