Brit_Doggie
Nah we here in thailand have a much better education system albiet expensive for higher education. Maybe why so many thais Marry or live with farangs for the support funds needed for aforesaid education. Now many people say the thais are a crazy.race, but think of it in reality they super smart. laolover88
Bit like EFL teachers in LOS with no qualifications then? They don't get sacked, they just don't get work permits. However India is a vast country with huge discrepancies between the urban middle class and rural poor. Government Expenditure on education in Thailand is one of the highest in the world as a % of Government expenditure. And what do you get?: Illiterate Students. In P1-P6 schools 10km from Chiang Mai the students can't write their name. I have kids in Thai schools. If I complain about anything I am told 1. Teachers are in a meeting. 2. Children of 12 and 13 should look after themselves. I see all Karachakan teachers have nice cars and nice houses. They could not write a lesson plan if they tried, let alone a timetable. My kids reckon their friends in their classes are up to FOUR years adrift of what they were learning in the UK and France;and they tell me that 20% cannot even write Thai correctly. So don't get me started. There are excellent aspects of Thailand, but Education is not one of them
