I have an O-A visa which expires 28 May next year. In May this year I went to the UK for a few days and when I returned I was stamped back in.

I've only just checked my passport to see when my next 90 day report is due and I see that the entry stamp from my most recent UK visit says I am admitted only until 28 July this year!

I'm guessing that the officer got confused and forgot to change the month and year on her date stamp, things were pretty hectic at the time, my fault I should have checked but didn't.

The question is, which takes precedent in my passport, my O-A visa which expires 28 May 2015 or the most recent entry stamp which says admitted until 28 July 2014?

I could go down to Immigration but I'm desperately trying to avoid that, alternatively I could bluff it and do nothing but that may not be wise.

Anyone who knows the answer for certain, no guessing, please?

Thanks

Best is to go to CW-road.

They have a special desk there dedicated to correct wrong stamps and will issue you with the correct date stamp.

Thanks Mario, I was afraid you might say that - I presume CW road means Bangkok? I'll try my luck in the shambolic CM office.

I am confused by your dates. You say you made a trip in May of this year and you visa expires May 28th of 2015.. You visas validity starts on the date it was issued.

I can't see how the date of May 28th could not be correct,

My visa was due to expire on 28 May 2014. But I extend my visa 30 days in advance of the expiration date which was 29 April 2014 - the visa was therefore already extended when I traveled to the UK.

The date of 28 May 2015 on the visa is correct, the "admitted until" date of 28 July 2014 on the subsequent entry stamp, when I returned from my UK visit, is erroneous.. It appears as though the "admitted until" date is 90 days after the date my visa was actually renewed on 29 April 2014.

Did you had a re-entry permit when you left Thailand?

Only with a re-entry permit would you get till May 2015 when you got back from the UK. Without a reentry permit it should have been 30 days.

Yes, my re-entry permit expired on 28 May also - I returned to Thailand on 14 May 2014.

I'm pretty sure that the officer has glanced at my visa which contains two dates, one being the renewal date of 29 April and the second being the expiry date of 28 May 2015. She's then taken 90 days from the actual renewal date (for some reason only she knows) which is why she stamped 28 July.

Thanks for the effort guys, it looks like a trip to Immigration for me.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago on a trip to Siem Reap. The Immigration officer was fixated on my 90 day report paper and reminded me to make sure I reported in 90 days so she stamped my O-A Visa with a 90 day date instead of the one year date. I checked the stamp before leaving her desk and after I reminded her that I had a multiple entry visa she corrected the admitted until stamp

So you must always check before you leave the desk
