Timwin in Offshore workers post # 5

First it was just a visa exempt entry crackdown, then it spread to tourist visas. Yesterday they actually denied in the Malaysian border a lot of legit tourist visa holders. They are using some rules that were supposed to start from August 12th.

It is a mess, entry subjected to immigration officer's "discretion" while there are no clear rules! That could mean anything, border and officer lottery basically. I'd avoid Thailand for a couple of months unless you are in the process of getting some other visa.

When one reads the above pearl of wisdom posted by Timwin one comes to realise he or she has no real ideas as to what is actually happening let alone the solution.
Rash statements concerning a persons presumed visa status from Timwin leads one to wonder whether he or she might have some sort of ''technical '' problem concerning the class of visa he or she may have a right to and possess if possession is actually valid of course.
There is of course the option that the poster is not actually here in Thailand,
Cyber travel is extremely easy and so satisfying in it's therapeutic massaging of ones ego.

A toad and a southern peeled something dominate this thread with their slurs and veiled insults.

One has made 13,000 posts since 2006 about 5 day and the other about 15,400 posts over 6 years or about 7 a day, day in day out.

Both claim to have a life................"ho ho ho"

Sad for Thai Visa that such people predominate.

Driving to Suphan tomorrow, won't take my passport or keep to the speed limits.

philw I expected something a bit more articulate from you than stooping to taking swipes at peoples post counts, usually when people do this they have nothing to add to topic and thats all they can come up with, but I am flattered all the same you have taken the time to view my profile, to give he stats but sorry I am not interested not my type..wink.png

But good luck at the border thumbsup.gif

There is no border in Suphanburi.

It's bang in the middle of the country, 100km NW of Bangkok, where a lot of rice grows.

I'm so glad that flattery works for you......Can you read a map ??

Philw...what are you teaching in Thailand ? Geography ?

Dont need to read a map anymore dear boy... Thats what GPS is for, do keep up thumbsup.gif

and why did you connect your trip to Suphanburi, to my comment about the border ?...

All I said good luck at the border, none specific location , no time frame stated ?... it could be today, tomorrow, next week, next month BTW I have heard through the grape vine the Junta's next targets are those farangs living in Thailand who vocally supported the redshirts thumbsup.gif

I think philw is probably having a TVF Red Shirt conference with his friends like fab4, shannonT, GK etc in Suphanburi.

If you did not meet the qualifications to teach here you never should have come here in the first place

I believe the required qualifications keep on changing. and have changed a lot over the last few years.

They are ASEAN members, so expect to see far more Pinoys taking jobs of ol whitey.

You obviously don't understand what the AEC is going to be.

Same visas, same work permits, the requirements for Filipino teachers are actually set to get stricter with extra degree requirements.

Perhaps you though the AEC was going to be on par with the EU in terms of freedom of movement and labour??

Er, no.

Perhaps keep abreast of regional news a bit more. :)

They are not truly wanted here. I want an qualified English teacher for my kids not somebody who is teaching English because this is a way to stay in Thailand.

I'm not sure how a degree in Textiles qualifies somebody to teach English.

It doesn't. I said "i want an qualified English teacher" For the people who don't understand that:

A person who went to uni and learned how to teach English and passed his tests.

So you want somebody with a BA TEFL.

Good luck with that. I'm sure there's a good few Filipinos and Thais that have them. :)

I am abreast of what is happening, probably not so much in the TEFL world though

Thanks :-)

So you now understand that there isn't any freedom of movement or labour involved in the AEC?

Good. You didn't know that yesterday, did you? (Rhetorical question, no need for an answer).
