Visa Application Fee Exempted for Countries With Bilateral Agreement At Savannakhet?

Featured Replies

Anyone can confirm that passport holders from countries with bilateral agreement on visa fee exemption below is indeed free at Laos, particulary at Savannakhet consulate for all visa types?

I can confirm that it's free when apply at Malaysia and Singapore. Seeking confirmation when apply in Laos.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs website posting:

Thailand's Visa Information : List of countries which have concluded bilateral agreements on visa fee exemption with Thailand

List of countries which have concluded bilateral agreements

on visa fee exemption with Thailand

  1. Malaysia
  2. The Philippines (visa fee exemption for stay of not exceeding 59 days)
  3. Singapore
  4. Republic of Korea
  5. Tunisia

I think they will do them free but only for tourist visas.

Just got back from Savannakhet. Confirmed that it was stamped "gratis" after submitted application form, no fee asked, even for multiple entry non-immigrant category. Even i didnt ask if it's for all visa types, it is pretty safe to assume so since multiple entry non-immigrant is already the most expensive category.

Why this list is not include Vietnam and Russia? These two countries also has signed bilateral agreement with Thailand.

Tunisia?

It seems a bit odd one out considering the rest are Asian countries...

It is not the same bilateral agreement. Those are for visa exempt entries. For visa fee waiver it is a different one.

Info for both can be found here: http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/123

I was under the impression that this topic was about getting a visa at the Thai consulate without having to pay a fee. Don't Norwegians get the tourist visa free of charge?
