Non-Imm visa extension

Featured Replies

I have a 3-month non-imm type O visa, issued on 8 July. I intend to extend it for a further 12 months. Is there a set time when I will be able to do this? Ideally I would like to do it asap so I can confirm plans for the coming year, but I'm not sure if the visa has to have a certain amount of time used/remaining in order for me to do this.

Can anyone help, please?

Any time during the final 30 days of your permission to stay.

A few offices will do it 45 days early.

You can apply for your extension of stay (not a visa extension) up to 30 days (45 at some offices) before your permuted to stay date.

On what basis are you applying for the extension.

Thanks both. I am applying on the basis that my children both have 12 month visas and we are a single parent family....

I assume your children are attending school and have extensions of stay based upon that.

The addition factor that can effect the date you apply for your extension is that the 500k baht must be in the bank for 30 days when you apply for your extension..

Thank you, I am aware of that and it seems a letter from the bank is also required now to confirm it is a genuine account. The bank book itself is not enough.

You will need a letter from the bank to confirm your bank balance which also confirms it is a valid account. The bank book copies will confirm it has been there for 30 days.

Joe you said 500K, is that a typo, or have they raised it?

For a parent to get an extension based upon their child attending school and being on an extension has been 500k baht for many years.

You may be thinking of an extension based upon being the parent of a Thai which is still 400k baht in the bank or 40k baht income.
