Mae Sai visa run today.

Featured Replies

I went with two friends to do a visa run at Mae Sai today. We went to Chiang Rai yesterday and stayed the night, this morning we caught the 7am "Green Bus" minivan from Terminal 1, it took 1hr to reach Mae Sai station. From there we took a songteaw to the border for 15 baht. Two of us had many stamps from previous years doing visa runs but we always go back to the states for 6 months every year or year and a half to work so there are some breaks. For this year we had a three entry tourist visa where all three entries of 60 days had been used and the last entry had been extended 30 days. Our friend was on her first trip to Thailand and at the end of her 30 day visa on arrival. After 14 years coming to Thailand it was the quickest smoothest visa run I have ever done, everyone was friendly and asked no questions, just stamped us and moved us through. We have never worked here nor do we ever want to, but we do travel here for long periods of time and were afraid of being denied. I hope this is helpful for people in the same situation.

i was there today, had the same experience as op. activated my second entry on my second double entry tourist visa.

Our friend was on her first trip to Thailand and at the end of her 30 day visa on arrival.

Visa exemption, not visa on arrival. He may not be allowed a third time.
