I am not sure if any of the recent changes to visas, visa runs and such affect my situation, so hopefully somebody can advise.

My single entry tourist visa (60 days) expires on 02 august. I was planning to get a 30 day extension to this, which I'm guessing would take it to 01 September?

My flight back to the uk is for the 02 September, so I will have a 1 day overstay if I have worked it out correctly.

I seem to remember that a 30 day extension can be extended for another 7 days, or am I wrong?

If it can, what is the procedure and cost for this.

What's the best options if it can't be extended for another 7 days? I don't want any "black mark" on my name which would affect future trips.

Also, a second option is to go to vietnam when my visa expires on the 02 august, and return a day or two before my flight leaves on the 02 September. If I do this, do I still get the 15 day stamp for Thailand if I enter by land? Not sure if this has changed or not? I would not be flying back in to Thailand.

Thanks.

You apply for the 7 day extension the same way you do the 30 day extension and pay the same 1900 fee. You apply for it and will be given 7 days to leave.

Thanks.

That's that option resolved.

Can anybody advise on the 15 day re entry by land into Thailand, with an expired single entry visa.

Will be making decision today on what I want to do.

Thanks.

Not sure about the 15 visa exempt entry option. It would depend upon which border crossing you use. You could wait and check the latest news for the crossing you would use.

If it was me i would probably opt for the 7 day extension.

if a uk citizen, and as the uk is a g7 country, you would get a 30 day visa exempt entry by land border.

I'm now more confused regarding this.

Are the new rules likely to affect me getting a 15/30 day visa exempt if I leave thailand when my single entry visa expires on the 02 aug, then spending 3 1/2 weeks or so in cambodia and Vietnam, then returning via poipot and spending 2 or 3 days in bangkok before flying back to the uk, with proof of my flight.

If its a case of there being any uncertainty due to the new rules coming into effect soon, I simply won't chance it.
