Bangkok Bank Be1st debit card online purchase fees

Featured Replies

Hi all,

does anybody know if there are any fees when you make an online purchase with Bangkok Bank Be1st Visa debit card?

There are no fees by Bangkok Bank unless it's a purchase from a foreign website...then the following occurs: "When making payments or withdrawing cash overseas with your Be1st Visa Debit card, the amount will be converted to Thai Baht based on Visa's normal exchange rates with a conversion charge added which will not exceed 2.5% of the exchange rate applied. Cash withdrawals will be charged a flat fee of 100Bt."

A course there is nothing preventing an online merchant from charging a fee for payment via debit/credit card...above and beyond any fee the card-issuing bank may apply...kinda like how some brick-and-mortar stores will charge an extra fee if paying by debit/credit card.

Fee info available the Bangkok Bank website regarding their debit card.

between 12 and 25 Baht if transferring to a non-Bangkok Bank account, 50 if you do it in the bank

Typically no fees as same as a credit card but there is a conversion rate of roughly 2.5% of exchange rates on the day from Thai baht to USD or else when making an online purchase. They use VISA exchange rate to calculate the rates.
