Non-Immigrant ED visa single entry and the multi-entry permit

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm 26, Belgian.

Before starting, I want to say that I have looked for the answer to my question on the forum but I couldn't find a precise answer.

So here it is.

I recently got my Non Immigrant ED 90 days single entry visa from a Thai School for a one year class, so extendible 3 times.

In order to leave Thailand, as I have a single entry visa and not a multiple, I know that I have to ask and pay for a re-entry permit at the Immigration centre.

The cost of a single re-entry permit is 1000 THB and of a multiple is 3800 THB.

I would like to know if, with my type of visa, buying the multiple re-entry permit for 3800 THB will allow me to leave Thailand as much as I want, even after I will have extended my visa for 90 more days, or this re-entry permit will only be valid for the time I have my current 90 days visa (until the next extension).

In other words, would the multiple re-entry permit be transferred to the newly extended visa (after every 90 days)?

I hope I was clear, if you need more information don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks in advance.

Sam

Your visa is single entry, and it is not "extensible".

That means that before you current "allowed until" date expire, you will need an extension of stay at immigration for 1,900. That will be most like for 90 days and can be done as long you are studying, not just 3 times.

The re-entry is valid only until the extension expirese. it cannot be carried across different visa or extensions.

Indeed my words were not correct.

You answered my question by saying that the re-entry is valid only until the extension expires. It will be expensive to travel outside of Thailand.

Thanks for your answer!

A re-entry permit is only valid for the length of a permit to stay is is issued for. For a 90 day extension it will only be valid until it ends.
