Non B 1 year but no work permit yet

Hello,

I have a bit of a tricky situation, last week I was granted a 1 year multi entry Non B visa, on entry to Thailand I received a 90day stamp that takes me through to October.

The business visa was issued on the proviso that a local Thai company planned on hiring me and obviously secure a work permit.

As it turns out, I need to travel out of the country very soon for personal reasons before the work permit will be secured.

Can anyone let me know what the likely outcome will be at airport immigration, will I have hassles coming and going without the proper work permit in place?

There is no problem, immigration at the airport does not check the work permit. If they do ask, just explain.

Mick, what country did you get the visa at? Usually they asking lots of paper work and grant you 3 months only and not one year.

I also have a question regarding a business visa and work permits. If you only stay in Thailand approx. 6 months a year EG staying for less than 3 months on any particular trip. What happens at the airport or land crossing when you come back in to Thailand. How long do they stamp the visa for on re-entry. Would it also avoid having to do 90 day reports.

if you had a visa you would not be making 90 day reports nor have the need to get a re-entry permit because you would have to leave the country every 90 days.

If you have an extension of stay from immigration. You would need to make reports of staying longer than 90 days. You would need a re-entry permit to keep yous extension valid when you leave the country and would get a permitted to stay stamp up to the date your extension ends when you enter the country. A report would be needed 90 days from the date you enter the country.

A re-entry permit will be valid to your permit to stay date from your extension. If you apply for one and had 9 months left on your permit to stay that is how long it will be valid for.

If you have a multiple Entry One Year visa issued by a Thai Consular Facility outside of Thailand, then each time you enter Thailand up until the 'Enter Before' date on your visa you will be granted a new 90 day entry stamp (Permission to Stay).

No re-entry permit is required in this case unless you want to exit Thailand during a 90 day admission but after the 'Enter Before' date, in this case a re-entry permit will serve to preserve the last 'admitted until' date, when you re-enter before that date. which would have been granted against your then still valid visa.

If you have a one year Extension of Permission to Stay (from Thai Immigration within Thailand), then this is totally different and will always require a re-entry permit when to exit/enter Thailand within the extension period to preserve said extension which other wise would be lost on exit.

When you come back to Thailand you get a new arrival card. On there you note the number of your re-entry permit. Once you pass immigration and give the part of the entry card, they stamp you in till the date of your current permission to stay.

Your next 90 day report would be 89 days after having entered Thailand again. (day you enter is day 1, so add 89 days). The exit and entry stamps in your passport shows immigration that you was out of the country and didn't need to make a 90 day report, as well when you need to make another report.

The reports of staying longer than 90 days are just that. They have nothing to with the time you can stay here or be out of the county. When you leave before you have been here 90 days that cancels out the need to make a report. You make a report 90 days after the date you re-enter the country.

You will always be stamped in up to the date shown on your re-entry permit.

I was under the impression that I had apply for the re-entry permit before I left. Therefore is it stamped for whatever I ask for, is it automatically stamped until the end of the extension of stay or?
