extending 3 month researcher visa to one year

Featured Replies

I am a Canadian citizen with a 3 month researcher visa. I am going this week to extend it to one year. Though it was easy to find out what documents I needed for the 3 month visa this is not the case for the extension. I know that I need a letter from the university, which I have, my passport, copies of each and passport sized pictures (I have several of these). Is that all I need? I feel that I would need to fill in some sort of form, it seems that there are always forms to be filled here. If yes, is that form provided at the Immigration office or do I need to print it?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The form for an extension can be downloaded and must be printed double sided. You can also get it from immigration and fill it out there.

Don't forget, with the extension you will need to do 90 day reports.

Ah! Thank you very much for the swift reply.

I am aware of the 90 day reports. Last time I was at the immigration office, a British gentleman told me that the 90 day reports can now be done on line. I find this hard to believe though.

I can not be done online, but you can do it by mail.
