roboticeye
If I get a TETV, how do I go about the onward flight issue? Do I set my ticket to return for 270 days in the future? Do I need a return ticket if I have the visa? Edited July 28, 2014 by roboticeye
paz
You do not need a return ticket unless the issuing consulates insists on it.
ubonjoe
If you have a visa you don't need a return or onward ticket to travel to Thailand. You could not use 270 days for the date of return because the 6 month validity of the visa starts from the date of issue. Every day early you get your visa is one day less for the possible total stay you can get from the visa

glegolo
But Ubonjoe, in order to GET this VISA they might insist of having a out-ticket? Crossy
That flight requirment is specific to the embassy in Sweden, others have similar (India) or no (Hull) such requirements. For a triple they want to see in/out flights for all three entries "If you wish to apply 2 or 3 entries, please note that you must show all flight tickets/e-ticket/or confirmed travel arrangement entering Thailand for every entry." If there are honorary consulates in Sweden they may have less stringent requirements.

roboticeye
I am from the U.S.. I don't want to break any rules, especially while Thailand is going through it's crackdown/change.
ubonjoe
There is no crackdown for doing what you have planned. There is no requirement to have a ticket out of the country if you have a visa to enter the country. Certainly not at the end of the total stay possible from a 3 entry tourist visa. You could possibly buy a ticket out 260 days from the date you expect your visa to be issued. This would allow for overlaps of departures and entries for the entries and giving yourself a one day early schedule for doing your entries and the date your visa expires. Some embassies and consulates will want to see tickets to issue a visa.
roboticeye
How long do I legally need to stay out of the country to avoid trouble?
ubonjoe
At the moment there is no requirement to be out of the country any amount of time between your visa entries. At least an overnight stay would look better.
larsjohnsson
Both the Swedish embassy and the Swedish consulate like to have a copy of return or out ticket. I have tried without one, they phoned me and told me to send it in. This was when I could apply by mail. If you go there in person, bring it. Otherwise they tell you to come back with it. Expattaff1308
A friend comes to Thailand every year on a triple entry tourist visa staying in total around 9 months, so his passport has numerous TE Visas. Considering the crackdown, is he likely to be questioned and or refused entry because they may summise that he must be working here by being here 9 mths of the year, every year. Is there anything he may need to bring to prove he is a tourist??

But we don't really know yet. I would not call a person tourist if he spend 75% of his life in Thailand. And do it every year.
